I have been fortunate enough to be allowed to install for my customers one of my favorite Remington bolt knob modifications. This knob was created by Randy Cain @ R & D Precision and is, in my opinion, one of the toughest and better designed tactical bolt knobs. Here are some pics of what's involved in the install.

The .223 PT -2 (Practical Tactical) Trued Remington 700 with a 1-8 Bartlien barrel throated to 2.485 to feed the 75 Hornady A-Max out of the new Accuracy International .223 mags. (Full specs under custom rifles).

Bolt sleeved both front and rear to reduce bolt play/slop to just .0025 clearance for fast bolt manipulation and benchrest accuracy in tactical competitions. Another great choice to make a more custom looking rifle is to add a precision ground Pacific Tool and Guage bolt kept to same tolerences as sleeves and have it fluted.

Here is a 22-250 Ackley Improved stocked in a AI 2.0 that was once a 22br. Here is a 5 shot group at 100 yards fireforming brass.

300WM set back to 22" with target crown and Badger FTE Brake installed.

Barrel chambered in .308 Match.

Sleeved bolt with a total clearance of .002 for benchrest accuracy in a tactical gun.

Tac 2 - chambered in .260 match. Remington action trued and sleeved, Kreiger barrel, rifle basix LV-1 trigger set at 12oz., Cerakote H-series and Randy Cain's bolt knob conversion in an AICS.
